Well, I guess it's too late for me to say this but merry Christmas! Aah, yes. Christmas, the season of love, giving, kindness, generosity.Pfft. What a load of bull. Sure, I'd believe that if I was five! I'm into the whole giving gifts kind of thing but I feel like the essence of Christmas is lost. Like how you think of something you used to do and compare it to how you do it today, it's different. No matter how similar you do it, it'll never be the same.
Last year, I had the worst Christmas ever.It was not how it used to be. I guess it took me this long to realize how poor and how much suffering our country is in. People in this country prove themselves Filipino by buying merchandise with either Cory in it or the Philippines' map or flag.
When will they realize that it doesn't go that way. Sure, you buy shirts with the Philippines' flag on it, doesn't make any difference. You're just a guy that bought a shirt with a flag on it. When will the people realize that change happens first with yourself. You have to make the first move, the country won't do anything. It just sits there, waiting.
People are migrating to other countries, why? It's because they don't want their kids to live in a poor country, they don't want their kids to suffer the fate they had. They wanted a better life for them. One thought didn't even cross their mind. What if their kids would be the solution to our problem?
Dr. Jose Rizal once said that the children is the hope of the nation. What's up with us now? Kids buying and selling drugs, getting drunk, disobeying the law. Is this the hope of our nation? If it is, then I don't even know what will happen to us.
Ketsana -- a typhoon that hit our country, hard to forget I know. Many have died and many are left with nothing but the memories of the past. The good that came out of it? The Filipinos united to help one another, by giving out food and donations. To you, it may seem little but to the people who needed it, they were a lifesaver. Ever thought that your donations could possibly be one of the reasons why a family is alive as of today?
Our national language. What is it exactly? Is it Tagalog, Filipino, Cebuano, or Bisaya? We'll never know! People have conflicts on whether to put Tagalog as a national language or not. If people put the different dialects on a graph, it's quite clear that Tagalog overpowers all of them. It's like the national language of this country. Like. Because people in this country don't even agree on one thing. Why? It's because they're scared. Scared that their dialects, ones that came from their ancestors, might wash away. Here's a thought: why not teach both of them? Tagalog in school and your dialect at home. Easy right? Then why do people love to complicate things that aren't complicated?! Damn it all.
It's a new year, a time for change. Out with the old, in with the new. You people should get that stick that's shove up your ass and start cutting people some slack. Stop being such pricks just because you're rich and can control anyone you want 'cause you got hard cash. Get you lazy asses up and do something to help this fucking country of ours. I know what you're thinking, "how could this fourteen year old girl know so much?". The answer? I opened my eyes to what's in front of me and stopped acting like I'm blind. I want to let everyone see what I see. Somethings people don't let others see. The truth.
So, are you going to be the 'blind' one or are you willing to open your eyes and see the truth? Just look around you, look around places you've been, look around places you've never been. See how everything's changed, how everything's all fucked up.
Think about it before it's too late.
Happy new year, bitches.
--End.
